Inflation slowed down in Germany in August |

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) – Consumer inflation has eased somewhat in Germany in August, as food energy prices have grown at a slower pace than in previous months, as the latest report by German Statistics shows.
Consumer inflation has risen at a 3.1% year on year pace in August, down from the 3.3% pace posted in July. Again, food and energy, with increases by 7.4% and 13% year on year respectively, have been the largest inflationary contributors.
Month on month, inflation has started to show3 a different trend, posting a 0.3% decline, after the 0.6% increase posted in July, food prices have fallen 0.4% from July for the first time since May 2007, and motor fuels have posted a 6.1% monthly decline.
