Euro Zone’s labour costs moderate in the second quarter as salaries grow slower PDF Print E-mail
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) – Euro Area’s labour costs have slowed down their growing pace in the second quarter of the year, from the previous quarter, the same accounts for wages and salaries, according to figures released by the European Statistics Office, Eurostat.

Total hourly labour costs have risen 2.7% year on year in the second quarter of 2008, down from the 3.5% yearly rise posted in the first three months of the year, as wages and salaries slowed down their yearly growing pace t 2.8% in the second quarter, from the 3.7% year on ye4ar increase posted in the first quarter of the year.

Non-wage costs, the other main component of labour costs, has also moderated its growing pace to 2.2% year on year from 2.7% in the first three month of the year.
